Tammy & Tim's Wedding

Here ya go: I second shot for Anha Nguyen for Tammy & Tim's Wedding last July.  Second shooting is a lot of fun and gives photographers a little more leeway when it comes to experimenting with new techniques.  After a short & sweet Vietnamese tea ceremony, everyone drove down to the church for the Catholic wedding service.  The church was gorgeous, I love the way the sunlight fell on the bride and groom during the ceremony.  Oh, and want to know a brilliant tip?  Stretch out the cocktail hour into almost 2.  That made sure that everyone was feelin' fine for the 9 course Vietnamese dinner.  I saw a few ladies trying to drink water out of the garden fountains.

This wedding was a TON of fun, oh and check out the bottom for the CRAZIEST garter toss I've ever seen...

keep it coming

Found a cool spot to shoot some portraits for the guests!  Anha begrudgingly modeled for it.

So did I.

OK here it comes

...streamers....boxers...

FINALLY

Epic.

Andrew & Rachelle's Wedding

Andrew and Rachelle found me last year through a coworker of mine and I couldn't have been happier to shoot their wedding.  They are so comfortable with one another and have so much fun together, it was so easy to capture their personalities in the images!  I had the privilege of hiring the amazing Anha Nguyen as my second shooter to cover their big day.  So for those of you who don't know, photographers synchronize their cameras (yes, just like spies....) so you can see the event unfold from both perspectives at once.  Without any prior planning, both the bride and the groom with her bridesmaids and his groomsmen took their first swigs from their champagne glasses and flasks at the SAME time in two totally different places.  Crazy, right?!  Also - this was the first couple I've seen that had a Rolls Royce take them from the ceremony to the reception!

Slick.

Afghan Wedding in Garden Grove

Last summer I had the opportunity to shoot an Afghan Wedding reception, it was an amazing experience.  Maira & Mustafa invited me into a world I'd never seen before with unique and interesting traditions and some seriously incredible music.

This is also the wedding which introduced me to the talented Thanh Lai who works at the Hyatt where the couple was getting ready.  A truly gifted artist who's often featured in National Geographic's Your Shot Daily Dozen feature!

I know what you're thinking:  "Party Rock is in the Houuuse Toniiiight!"

The man had skills.

I'll admit it - I thought this was pudding.  Nasty looking pudding.  Turns out it was henna!

Some really interesting traditions!

Mustafa had to figure out a way to get the knife from her in order to cut the cake...

And some more familiar traditions (for me, at least!)

Coyote Hills Wedding

OK, definitely blog catch-up time!  I haven't posted anything since July of last year!?  I guess that/s a testament to how busy business has been (ironically)!

Here's a quick preview from a wedding shot in June of last year at the Coyote Hills Golf Course in Fullerton.

Serious style.
